Orange and Black Rally
OSU Orange and Black Rally- Wednesday, Sept 23rd, 2015
The Orange & Black Rally is one of OSU’s signature Welcome Week events! The Rally includes 3 exciting pieces: (1) a pep rally, (2) an official class photo with all new students and (3) a delicious picnic dinner. Buy your ticket to the dinner and read more about the event below.
Get your tickets ASAP before the event sells out! You can purchase tickets at Main Squeeze/Raintree, EBGBs, Southside Station at Arnold or Bing’s through Wednesday, September 23 at 1 p.m. If any tickets are left at this point, all tickets will be sold out of Arnold after 1 p.m. until they are sold out.
More about the Pep Rally and Class Photo:
The pep rally will start directly after Convocation wraps up in Gill Coliseum (around 5 pm for those not attending Convocation). Students will be lead out of Gill and into Reser Stadium for the rally which will feature speeches from a couple of OSU head athletic coaches and then the OSU marching band and cheerleaders teaching you the chants and songs to get you ready for OSU home games. After the pep rally students will head out onto the Reser Stadium football field to take a giant class photo in the shape of the letters O-S-U. As a student, you don’t get many chances to come ONTO the football field, so don't miss out!
More about the Picnic Dinner:
After the giant class photo is taken, you’ll exit Reser Stadium and onto Plaker Plaza to a catered meal. You must purchase a ticket in advance in order to get food at the picnic dinner (below you will find information on how to purchase picnic tickets). There will be music, games and competitions to enjoy for everyone in attendance.
Do I need a picnic ticket to go to the pep rally and class photo in Reser Stadium?
No! The only portion of the Orange & Black Rally you must purchase a ticket for is the dinner. We encourage all students to attend the pep rally and class photo to get pumped up and excited to be part of Beaver Nation!
What if I want a picnic ticket and am a OSU staff or faculty member, a student who lives off campus or haven't bought my ticket online before Move-In Day?
Tickets are able to purchase in-person starting Monday, September 14 during regular business hours at Main Squeeze/Raintree, EBGBs, Southside Station and Bing’s Café through Wednesday, September 23 at 1 p.m. Then, after 1 p.m. on the 23rd, you can still purchase tickets in-person, but only at Southside Station at Arnold. Tickets will then remain on sale at Arnold until they are sold out.
Where do I get my reserved ticket?
If you reserved a ticket online your ticket will be handed out at your all residence hall meetings the night of Sunday, September 20th.
When does the picnic start and end?
The picnic starts on Wednesday, September 23rd outside of Reser Stadium directly after the Class Photo and Pep Rally and runs until 8:00 PM. Students are free to come and go as they please during the event, but food is usually served until 7:30.
Can parents, family, and guests come to the picnic? How do they purchase tickets?
Yes guests are welcome to attend with new students. Students can purchase additional tickets for guests online or at Main Squeeze/Raintree, EBGBs, Southside Station and Bing’s Café.
What will be served?
The 2015 menu includes Smoked Beef Brisket and Stuffed Portobello Mushroom sandwiches (gluten free options available too). Sides include black beans, kale chips and fresh fruit. There will be a limited number of free, reusable water bottles handed out at the event as well.
